Chicagoland’s Seasons Dental Care Chose Mighty Nice

Seasons Dental Care is a general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry practice in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The owner, Dr. John Pontikes, came to Mighty Nice wanting a website that matched the look and feel of his impressively constructed and decorated office space. He understood that his dental practice’s website would be the online extension of his office, and he needed someone who could deliver a fresh website in tune with the existing Seasons Dental Care identity. We like to think we delivered with seasonsdentalcare.com, a custom website design powered by WordPress.

We actually finished the Seasons Dental Care website this past June, but our summer was so hectic with Mightyvites and my wedding that I haven’t been able to blog about it until now. The website is significant because it is the last client website that Mighty Nice will produce. After nearly four years of web consulting and construction for dentists, ophthalmologists, and day cares we have decided to stop taking new web clients, but continue serving existing customers, to focus on Mightyvites.

This change in business was a tough, but welcomed decision for us to make. Stephanie and I both enjoy combining our web talents to provide small businesses with the online identity they need. Our true passion, however, lies in the hybrid invitation experiment called Mightyvites. Our first year in the wedding invitation business went better than expected, and with only so many hours in a day, and a lot more work to be done, streamlining our business to one service/product was necessary. That’s good news for our growth, and a decision we hope helps us sustain.

Our First Day Care Website Turned Out Mighty Nice!

Some of you may have noticed that our blog has been quiet the past few months. That’s a good thing, because it means we’ve been busy. Since the first of the year orders for wedding Mightyvites have been steady, and we’ve been building websites. One of the website projects we were working on recently completed. Thankfully the client, and we, were thrilled with the outcome.

Belle Meade Children’s Center (BMCC) in Nashville, Tennessee is a ministry of Belle Meade United Methodist Church. The director at the day care is Steph & I’s aunt, and we were excited when she contacted us at the end of last year to talk about BMCC’s online needs. The children’s center had a tall order: they needed a large staff profile section, password-protected classroom pages, and easy to update calendars to relay lunch, organization, and classroom information to customers. That’s more than what Mighty Nice typically builds for clients, but we were happy to help.

It took a couple months but we did deliver an exciting website. Each classroom is equipped with its own blog that faculty can update to keep parents in the loop of their children’s activities. Each blog is password protected so only parents of the children in a classroom have access. For calendars we integrated Google Calendars via Google Apps, providing an intuitive interface for managing a sophisticated timeline. The rest of the website’s pages were custom designed for BMCC and brought to life with WordPress power.

The Belle Meade Children’s Center project was a fun one for Steph & I. We got to work with our aunt, which was a real pleasure, plus we got to know her colleagues. Great people, and I hope the site serves them, and the parents of BMCC, well for many years to come.

Another Mighty Nice Dentist Website: Congratulations Dr. Miller!

We recently launched the website of Dr. Thomas R. Miller in Troy, New York. Dr. Miller is our second client in New York state and the fourth cosmetic dentist we’ve had the pleasure of working with. Dr. Miller hired Mighty Nice for a website makeover that included a site redesign, logo redesign, and WordPress-backed development. This site is the first we’ve done with an integrated blog and RSS feed.

Another Mighty Nice Website: Congratulations Pediatric Eye MD!

Amid our Mightyvites launch excitement we had another special event: the launch of a client website. The site is for Pediatric Eye MD, a pediatric eye care firm with three locations in and around New York City. We were hired to do a complete redesign of their existing website, move over all of their existing content, and provide a content management system that creates pages both in English and Spanish. There were a lot of firsts for us on this project. Pediatric Eye MD was the first website we’ve done using WordPress, the first bilingual website we’ve created, and the first eye care client we’ve serviced — all of which made the project exciting. The website turned out great (the client’s words, not ours!) and we look forward to working on similar projects in the future.

Mightyvites Are Live Online!

And we’re off! Mightyvites are now live on the web at www.mightyvites.com. That means it’s time to check out all the cool features we’ve been talking about for the past week. Invitation Addressing Is a Pain. Let Mightyvites Do It For You!

Tomorrow is launch day, which means this is the last Mightyvites highlight post in our launch series. And we’ve saved one of the best features for last: pre-addressed envelopes.

Mightyvites Manage Your Details Mightily

Three days left until Mightyvites launch, and there’s still a lot left to highlight. For one there is the online portion of the invitation, which is one of Mightyvites’ greatest strengths. Not only do guests RSVP online, but hosts can also share with their guests detailed information about their event. Such details are integrated with the RSVP, and allow hosts to present guests with maps, links, notices, and even choices that can affect event planning.
Event details are managed with the Mightyvites Planner. One of the handiest details a host can create is an event location. With it hosts can describe where an event is to take place and can input the location’s address. If given an address the Mightyvite will generate a Google map with options for directions inside the RSVP. If an event has multiple locations (i.e. hotel and reception hall), the Mightyvite will offer directions from one location to another.

Another slick detail are Mightyvite choices. With these hosts can present choices to their guests for selection during RSVP. Guest selections will be added to their response and automatically tracked by the Planner. This is great for need-to-know information like meal choices. No longer does a host need to keep a tally of who wants steak and who wants fish because the Mightyvite will keep track of the count in real time.

Link sets and notices are the other two event details that can be added with the Mightyvites Planner. The former allow hosts to group together websites, such as registry locations or points of interest, for guests. The latter allows hosts to share any other written information they’d like to convey to their guests.

With a Mightyvite all event information is online and in one place. There are no printed details cards for guests to keep track of, and hosts can update details at any time. This eliminates worries about an unexpected change in venue or menu affecting printed details cards. Plus you can be sure that guests will always have the most up-to-date information about an event. We think this is how the web should change invitations, and it’s where Mightyvites really shine.

Choosing A Mightyvite Design

We’ve blogged previously about how a Mightyvite matches in print and online with the same design. With just four days left to go before launch you may be wondering how our customers will go about choosing a Mightyvite design. We wanted to make the design selection experience fun, easy, and flexible. So, we created a simple gallery where customers can browse through existing designs, but we also left open the option for customers to create a custom design from scratch.
Choosing a design for an event invitation is a lot like picking out an outfit for the big day. The invitation should be a reflection of the host, their style, their personality, and it should set the tone for the event. To meet these needs the Mightyvites gallery offers many styles and designs to choose from, and we are constantly working to add new designs to the collection. What’s more, our invitations are customizable—customers craft their own wording and can choose from 36 colors to use with their design. If a customer doesn’t find a design in our collection that is perfect for them they can work with our graphic designer to create something unique.

Whether bold and contemporary, soft and romantic, simple and classic or something else entirely different, we are dedicated to helping our customers find a design that is perfect for their Mightyvite. Mightyvites Make Tracking RSVPs a Breeze!

Today’s launch post kicks off discussion about what Mightyvites can do for you, the event organizer.

Planning special events should be fun, but it does take some effort. And the larger the event, the more effort it requires. Let’s face it—for many of us, keeping track of small details such as individual guest RSVPs can grow into a daunting task. Traditional RSVP cards are easily lost. Or mistakenly thrown out. Or chewed to bits by the puppy. And let’s not forget those guests who call to change their RSVP after the fact—just one more thing to add to the ever-growing list of tasks to complete before your big day.

Mightyvites offer a solution to this madness. With a Mightyvite, your guests will RSVP online, so there are no cards to keep track of. Each time a guest gives their RSVP, an email notification will be sent to the event organizer. But, there’s no need to keep track of the emails. As the event’s organizer, you can sign into your Mightyvites account at any time and see for yourself which guests have replied, how many people are coming to your event, and who has yet to respond. You can even see each guest’s preferred meal choice if there is one.
