Chicago Wedding Invitation Brings Skyline To The Gallery

When Steph and I moved back to Chicago to start Mightyvites we were happy to find a new watering hole in our new neighborhood of Logan Square. The bar was named Cole’s, and we quickly adopted it as our evening escape from the home office. Since then many Mightyvites ideas have been hatched on Cole’s bar stools, and many conversations have been had with Cole himself. Cole knows all about our business and has watched us grow Mightyvites from nothing. That said, we were thrilled when Cole’s fiancee Sara contacted us to create a Chicago-themed wedding invitation plus matching place cards for their November affair.

Sweet Pea Wedding Invitation Debuts As Design In The Gallery

As you might imagine we deal with a lot of weddings around here. Prior to October 1st, however, there was one wedding that dominated our time. Mine! Yes, the love of my life and I were hitched on October 1st, 2011. It was an unforgettable day with tons of friends, family, and good times. To get people to attend we of course used a Mightyvite. My sister, Stephanie–the design genius here at Mightyvites–was tasked with creating a wedding invitation of sweet pea flowers in a particular shade of green. Why sweet peas? Because that’s what I call Tina, my now wife, then bride-to-be.

Rolling Waves Wins As Wedding Invitation Design

We’ve been busy around here at Mightyvites HQ. Between full-time work, my wedding plans, and moving there hasn’t been much time the past few months for new Mightyvites designs or features. We did, however, hold a design poll last month, and there was a clear winner: water.

August’s design poll was influenced by Chicago’s Air & Water Show. The design chosen by our fans for an invitation was an image of big, rolling  sea waves. The end results is a new addition to the Mightyvites gallery: the rolling waves invitation design.

Invitation With Border: The Dainty Floral Debut

July’s design poll winner was, by far, the dainty floral border. This lovely border consists of an intricate, tightly repeated pattern which I find reminiscent of a landscape you’d see in an English garden. As promised we’ve used the border in a new invitation design for the Mightyvites gallery. Predictably named “dainty floral” this new flowery invitation option is wonderful for a wedding or other formal affair.

Mightyvites Invitations Highlighted In The Fall Issue Of Chicago Style Weddings

Last week Steph and I attended the launch party for the Fall issue of Chicago Style Weddings. Steph had been interviewed for the magazine and at the launch they passed out copies of the new issue. We were thrilled to see that on page 352, under the “invitations, guests & favors style file”, Mightyvites are featured front and center! Showcased is the ginkgo design, letterpressed, in the color citrine. It’s the same letterpress invitations we made for a customer and highlighted on the blog a few months back.
